What Core Competences are necessary to fulfill these Tasks today and in Future?

The ability to co-operate (Inter-operability)
- Contribution to the promotion of peace and to crisis management
- Joint operation of equipment, command systems and structures, and coordinated operational procedures in co-operation with other Air Forces
The ability to grow and expand
- Bringing in and training of members of the militia as required
- Maintenance of a minimum know-how level (to be expanded if and when required)
- Setting of priorities for armament procurement in accordance with threat assessment
- Reduction of evaluation, procurement and equipment introduction processes
Situation Overview
- Acquisition and selection of appropriate sensor equipment (e.g., radar)
- Compilation of sensor data into a general airspace picture
- Guaranteed availability of this information (up-to-date, in the form desired, wherever needed)
Operational Readiness
- Carrying out of the Air Force's mission from the psychological, moral, technical, tactical and logistic point of view
- Harmonization between peace-time and operational readiness organization after mobilization

Learning Air Force
- Constant flexible adaptation to changes in the areas of finance, personnel, organization, procedures and operational doctrine
- Mastering technologies and responding to trends in good time
