Organisation und tasks of the Air Force Staff
The Air Force Staff (the operational planning authority of the air force) is the actual hub for commanding the air force. The Staff is commanded by the Chief Air Force Staff. The affairs of the air force are registered in a management cell, selected and passed on for processing. The completion of all activities is monitored by this cell. All staff branches are assigned to the Chief Air Force Staff (A1 - A7, A9 led by a militia officer, cf. organisational chart) as well as the areas Policy & Standards, International Relations Air Force, Finances, Research and Doctrine, Management Development, Planning-Projects-Tests, Military Aviation Regulations and the Air Force Legal Service.
The staff branches elaborate orders at the level commander Air Force that regulate the daily air force operations, training and basic training of militia and military professionals. The use of human and material resources is also planned here. The Air Force Staff is the most important coordination element for the staffs that are superior to the air force (Armed Forces Joint Staff AFJS and Armed Forces Staff AFS). All the staff branch chiefs and their staffs work when requested also in the staffs of the Chief of the Armed Forces (CAF) and thus integrate air force expertise into the joint decision-making process.
