Air traffic controllers

The Aeromedical Institute also carries out examinations of and provides expert opinions for air traffic controllers and their assistants.

Aeromedical examinations are based on the JAR-FCL 3 (Joint Aviation Requirements - Flight crew licensing, Medical ) - (FVL: Class 1; FVA: Class 2).

The AMC carries out the preliminary examination of air traffic controller candidates. Preliminary examinations of air traffic controller assistants as well as the periodical examinations of air traffic controllers and their assistants can be carried out either by the AMC or an aeromedical examiner (AME) .
