Since its introduction in 1993, the Super Puma transport helicopter simulator in Emmen had been used by Swiss and foreign pilots for about 35,000 hours.
In April 2011, the simulator was decommissioned. It was sold to South Africa where it is now being operated again.
The new simulator, with the designation AS532, will be installed in the same hall and is planned to be operational in autumn 2012.
