Fighter Squadron 11, one of three Swiss Air Force F/A-18 squadrons, is an important pillar of Switzerland‘s air defence. While the other F/A-18 squadrons operate from Payerne in Western Switzerland, Fighter Squadron 11, as part of Air Force Wing 13, fulfils its daily missions from Meiringen Air Base in the Bernese Oberland.
